The Office for Economy and Governance has a coordinating role by providing support and service to the entire municipality. The office's area of responsibility spans the entire economic spectrum, such as financial planning, accounting, budgeting and follow-up, liquidity and financing issues, investments, and financial administration. The office is also responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing, local strategic issues, as well as the task of coordinating matters related to operational planning, follow-up, statistics, quality, and analysis. The office also drives the municipality's overall work for sustainable community development.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you an experienced and self-sufficient accountant who is confident in your accounting skills and wants to work centrally in a municipal organization with great opportunities to make an impact?
Sigtuna Municipality is looking for an Accounting Manager for the Office of Economy and Governance and the municipality's central accounting unit. A role focused on governance, accounting, and the development of economic processes. A role where you will have the opportunity to take on a coordinating responsibility for the municipality's accounting. This role has no personnel responsibility and reports to the Head of Accounting.
Your main tasks will include:
- Coordinating the municipality's accounting, financial statements, annual reports, and reporting.
- Coordinating the municipality's work with group accounting and the financial summary (RS).
- Working with environmental monitoring, risk assessments, and financial analyses related to the municipality's overall accounting.
- Contributing your expertise by establishing structures for standardization, training others, and developing the accounting work.
- Preparing and updating procedural descriptions, governing documents, and other recurring tasks that ensure reliable accounting.
A particular focus in the coming year will be the implementation of a new financial system and the need to develop working methods, routines, and processes related to accounting that arise from such a change. You are expected to take an active role in the implementation of the new financial system.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a university degree or vocational training in economics, or equivalent competence gained through relevant work experience. You have at least five years of experience in qualified accounting work and have worked with the entire accounting process from start to finish. Previous experience from larger and complex organizations is an advantage. It is also beneficial if you have experience in development work within the accounting field and in working with accounting in the public sector or other politically governed operations.
As a person, you are independent and solution-oriented with a good ability to work both individually and in teams. You have strong communication skills and can explain complex issues clearly and pedagogically. Structured and confident in your competence, you thrive in the role of advisor and change leader. You communicate clearly both orally and in writing, with good collaboration skills. You have a well-developed holistic view and the ability to notice details that make a difference.
